Al Gore’s New Presentation

This is phenomenal. Put a price on carbon!

Gore is passionate, convincing and inspiring. Now I understand what he’s going to do with his new ad campaign. I’m going carbon neutral. I want a footprint so light you can’t make it out in the sand. I want to be a part of the hero generation. Let’s save this planet people!

By the way, you should definitely check out more of the TED talks. They have amazing speakers that give really interesting presentations, performances, etc.

This is an important presentation. Thank you for spreading it. Al is tuning in to the most strategic level of change - a change of consciousness. To rescue ourselves, we have to become something most of us currently can’t imagine. Julia Butterfly Hill spent two years living in a redwood tree to save a forest from being cut. You know the phrase, Throw It Away? Julia says, being conscious is realizing there is no Away. Consciousness looks for a basis in reality of this sense of separation we have from each other and from nature. Finding no basis in fact for the feeling of separation, consciousness begins dissolving it. The old sense of self as separate begins to die. What arises in its place is interconnectedness, interdependence, fields of energy patterns, presence, thoughts that arise from the earth, the cosmos, thoughts that are not owned.
The Earth is a conscious being on a scale that is truly unimaginable to those who only see it as resources to exploit. And what a mind blower to realize that the consciousness we have always claimed as our own, in truth, is a fragment of Earth consciousness. And as more and more realize this truth, these fragments of consciousness join together in a contagious wave of awareness that is just what Al is trying to evoke in this presentation. Amen, Al.

I agree. I’ve become committed to working within walking distance of where I live. Hopefully those will be the same place one of these days. Thanks for posting this video. I haven’t watched it yet but plan to this weekend. If Al Gore had stuck by his dedication to the environment when he ran for president, he would have attracted more of the voters who ended up voting for the Greens.
